I will believe you ... Because not all small octos are the venonous 'blue ring' octo. So its probably a different species in that shell that wasnt venomous.
Most octopus encounters in Australia are with non venomous species that can bite, which will possibly lead to infection, but not deadly envomations.
But my question to you is WHY were you messing around with our wildlife ? Are you crazy? Everybody knows you shouldnt do that in Australia. Why did you not do your research first?
@slk320k well how the hell was i supposed to do that.... and i was 12 years old so didn't really wanna research about poisonous shit in there :/ and by the way it's rings were blue when i took it, first it was brown but when i touched it it was blue, so yea im pretty sure it was one, and the locals said " are you fucking crazy! thats a bluering octopus!" when we were showing the pictures about 2 months later:)
@slk320k dont they say that this octopus isnt verry agresive? it woud explain why it didnt atacked quickly looks like it was kind like hell:) if i was poison and some giants woud take me up and give me trough and didnt give me water i woud do anything to get away of that place he was patient lol
Yeah, they are kinda timid and not aggressive at all. They dont go looking to bite people, it happens really only when they are picked up or trodden on.
But they are soft bodied and very vulnerable to damage and attack, so they are quick to defend against threats if they can not first escape.
It flashed its blue rings at him when he took it, so it was warning enough that it was not happy and threatening to bite.
@Afroman2978>>>Dont talk shit, asshole. These things are deadly. They can kill a human within 15~25 minutes.I think your referring to is squids.Squids bite are harmless...Damn!Your such a fail.
buddy first off go fuck yourself and second off i think ican tell the fucking difference between a squid and a blue ringed octopus your the fail Bitch

If it was brown, then turned blue, then you are right when you say it would have been a blue ring for sure.
I guess that now you would know how lucky you were that it didnt bite ... coz the blue flashes are a sign of anger or threat & defence.
